The route of the RGS connected Durango, CO and Ridgeway, Co. From the bottom of the map, you can see the route from Durango, to Mancos, Dolores, then Rico, over Lizard Head Pass, past Trout Lake, Ophir, Vance Junction (Telluride Branch) on to Placerville, over Dallas Divide,  then to Ridgeway (about 25 miles north or Ouray).  The RGS (162 miles long) was built to bridge the gap between Ironton and Ouray.
